I was celebrated by the school system, and celebrated BIG. I appeared on the website, the TV, our local newspaper, and even NPR. It was so nice to bring some positive attention to our school and the program we've worked so hard on this year. Here's a few pictures.
I told my students I won an award and someone was coming to film them. One asked what the award was for so I told him digital innovation. He looked at me and said, "Yep, that makes sense." I love that my students can feel my passion for technology, and I hope it makes them passionate about learning and thinking creatively as well.
My inbox exploded after the news became public---literally. I had emails/phone calls/social media messages from so many people. There is no doubt in my mind that I am supported by the school system and the community. People I didn't even know sent me messages, cards, and even visited me. It was very overwhelming, but this is a huge step for innovation in our community, and I'm so excited to be on the forefront.
